Financial Plus Credit Union Celebrates New Branch with Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony

FLINT, MI –
Financial Plus Credit Union hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony with the Flushing Chamber of Commerce and community partners to celebrate the grand opening of its Flushing branch. The new branch is located at 6530 Pierson Road, on the corner of Pierson and Elms.
“We're excited to announce the opening of our newest branch in Flushing! Having lived here for just over a year, I’ve enjoyed the hometown feel. We’re eager to assist our existing Financial Plus members, become an active participant in the community, and welcome new members into our branch,” said Sam Russell, Sales Manager of Financial Plus’s Flushing branch.
In addition to the ribbon-cutting, the grand opening featured a check presentation in support of Flushing Community Schools' athletic programs. Financial Plus’s CEO Brad Bergmooser presented a $10,000 check to Kevin Foltz, Flushing High School Principal, and Shawn Andrews, Flushing High School’s Athletic Director. The contribution will go towards the Flushing Athletic Department to help improve its facilities, purchase equipment for student-athletes, and help strengthen Raider Athletics.
To celebrate the opening of the new Flushing branch, a series of weekly "Pay it Forward Parties" were organized. This initiative, a creative twist on random acts of kindness, involved a team of Financial Plus employees visiting a different local business or organization in Flushing for eight weeks, starting back in March. Through this campaign, a total of 464 community members were positively impacted. The primary goals were to spread goodwill within the community, support local businesses, and raise awareness about the new branch.
The Flushing branch opened for business on April 1st, 2024 with a soft opening. Financial Plus collaborated closely with NBS Commercial Interiors on the branch redesign, resulting in a modern, engaging space tailored to help members reach their highest potential.
